Knife Review: The KUBEY Hamster – A Compact Powerhouse with Style
Welcome back, knife enthusiasts! Today, we’re diving into an exciting new release from Kubey Knives – the Hamster. Whether you're into EDC blades, a die-hard Kubey fan, or just looking for something sleek and reliable to add to your collection, the Hamster might just be the next must-have on your list.
Let’s jump right into the unboxing and review.
Unboxing the Kubey Hamster
Right out of the gate, Kubey delivers a premium experience. The box is well-designed – matte black with the crisp Kubey logo front and center, and all the expected specs and branding on the back. Inside, you'll find the knife safely nestled in protective foam, along with some great extras: a branded cleaning cloth, a Kubey sticker, and a warranty card. It's the kind of thoughtful packaging that lets you know you're handling a quality product.
Design & Variants
The Hamster is available in four variants, each with different handle materials and finishes to match your style. The version we’re reviewing today features a blue titanium handle, which is lightweight, tough, and has a smooth, high-end feel. Currently, all four variants are available on our website as of this post’s release – but given the buzz around this knife, don’t expect them to last long.
In-Hand Feel & Ergonomics
Despite its compact size, the Kubey Hamster feels excellent in hand. The 4.37” titanium handle offers a secure, comfortable grip without being bulky. There's no lanyard hole, which keeps the design clean, but it does feature a non-reversible deep-carry pocket clip – something to keep in mind for left-handed users.
The knife uses a frame lock, offering secure blade lockup and smooth operation. Deployment is quick and snappy thanks to dual thumb studs, and the blade flips out with authority.

Blade Specs & Performance
The Hamster features a 3.46” blade made from 14C28N steel – a solid choice for everyday carry. It strikes a nice balance between edge retention, corrosion resistance, and ease of sharpening.
-
Blade Style: Clip point
-
Blade Finish: Satin
-
Blade Grind: Hollow
You also get functional jimping along the spine, giving you excellent thumb traction during precision cuts.
Overall, the 7.83” total length makes this knife a perfect mid-size EDC companion. It's discreet in the pocket but more than capable when it comes time to work.
Final Thoughts
The Kubey Hamster blends style, functionality, and premium materials into a slick little package. It’s a knife that punches above its weight class, with excellent ergonomics and clean aesthetics.
If you’re looking to add a compact, titanium-framed knife with top-tier build quality to your collection, this one’s a no-brainer. And remember — all four variants are now available on our site!
