DEFCON Artifact – Blue Marbled Resin Review

Hello everyone, and welcome back to another Jimping with Jacrispy review! Today we’re taking a look at a brand-new release from DEFCON — the Artifact. If you enjoy knife content like this, don’t forget to check out our other blog reviews and our YouTube channel so you never miss a review.

Now, let’s jump straight into it.

First Impressions & Packaging

The DEFCON Artifact arrives in a clean, modern box that fits the brand’s tactical-meets-refined aesthetic. The box features a sleek, dark color scheme with bold DEFCON branding across the front. The logo is sharp and eye-catching, giving it that premium, no-nonsense presentation right out of the gate.

On the back, you’ll typically find product and brand information, keeping things straightforward and professional.

Inside the box, DEFCON includes:

  • A protective pouch

  • Cleaning cloth

  • Stickers

  • Product paperwork

It’s always great to see brands include extras like a cleaning cloth — it shows attention to detail and adds to that overall unboxing experience.

The Knife – Blue Marbled Resin Variant

The version we’re looking at today features a Blue & White Marbled Resin handle, and it really stands out. The swirling pattern gives each knife a slightly unique look, blending bold blue tones with crisp white accents. It’s eye-catching without being over the top.

Handle & Ergonomics

  • Handle Length: 4”

  • Material: Marbled Resin (Blue & White)

  • Lanyard Hole: Yes

  • Pocket Clip: Yes

  • Reversible Clip: No

The grip feels solid in hand. At 4 inches, the handle offers enough room for a full, comfortable hold. The marbled resin is smooth but still secure during use. The inclusion of a lanyard hole adds versatility for those who prefer additional retention options.

The pocket clip provides reliable carry, though it is not reversible, so keep that in mind if you’re left-handed.

Lock & Deployment

  • Lock Type: Axis Lock

  • Thumb Studs: Yes

The Axis-style lock makes deployment and closing smooth and satisfying. It allows for easy one-handed operation and adds a fidget-friendly factor that many knife enthusiasts appreciate.

The thumb studs make opening the blade simple and intuitive. Deployment feels clean and responsive, exactly what you’d expect from a well-tuned Axis lock setup.

Blade Details

  • Blade Steel: 14C28N

  • Blade Length: 3.25”

  • Blade Style: Sheepsfoot

  • Blade Finish: Brushed

  • Blade Grind: Flat

  • Jimping: Yes

The 3.25” sheepsfoot blade is practical and versatile. The flat grind offers solid slicing performance, while the brushed finish keeps things clean and refined.

14C28N steel is known for its corrosion resistance, edge retention, and ease of sharpening — making it a reliable choice for everyday carry. The jimping along the spine adds extra control, especially during precision tasks.

Overall Specifications

  • Handle Length: 4”

  • Blade Length: 3.25”

  • Overall Length: 7.25”

  • Blade Steel: 14C28N

  • Handle Material: Blue & White Marbled Resin

At 7.25” overall, the Artifact sits comfortably in that sweet spot for EDC — not too big, not too small.

Variants & Availability

As of this review, there are four different variants of the DEFCON Artifact available. If blue marbled resin isn’t your style, there are other options to match your preference. All variants are available on our website at the time of this release.

Final Thoughts

The DEFCON Artifact blends clean aesthetics with practical performance. Between the smooth Axis lock, quality 14C28N steel, and standout marbled resin handle, this knife brings both functionality and visual appeal to the table.

If you’re looking for a mid-sized everyday carry with a modern look and dependable materials, the Artifact is definitely worth considering.
