📦 First Impressions – The Box & Presentation

Right out of the gate, the X504 comes packaged in a clean, well-designed box that reflects the modern, tactical style the brand is known for. The box features bold, sharp font styling paired with the Critical Strike logo prominently displayed on the front. The color scheme leans into a dark, stealthy aesthetic that complements the knife inside.

On the back of the box, you’ll typically find product details and branding elements laid out clearly and professionally. It’s not overdone — just straightforward and clean.

Inside the box, you’re greeted with:

  • The Critical Strike X504 knife

  • A microfiber cleaning cloth

  • Branded stickers

  • Protective packaging to keep the knife secure in transit

It’s a simple but appreciated presentation that feels complete without unnecessary extras.

🔎 The Knife – Design & Build

Let’s get to the star of the show.

The variant we’re looking at today features a purple G10 handle, offering a great mix of durability and lightweight performance. G10 is well-known for its toughness and grip, and this handle feels secure and comfortable in hand. At 4.4 inches long, it provides enough real estate for a full, confident grip without feeling bulky.

Handle Features:

  • Material: Purple G10

  • Lanyard Hole: No

  • Pocket Clip: Yes

  • Reversible Pocket Clip: Yes

  • Lock Type: Axis Lock

The Axis-style lock offers smooth deployment and reliable lock-up. It’s easy to manipulate one-handed and makes fidgeting with the knife surprisingly satisfying. The reversible pocket clip is also a big plus, accommodating both left- and right-handed users.

In terms of grip and ergonomics, the knife feels balanced and comfortable. There’s thoughtful contouring along the handle, and it doesn’t create any hot spots during use.

🗡 Blade Details

Now onto the blade.

The X504 features a 3.4-inch drop point blade crafted from VG-10 steel — a solid choice known for its corrosion resistance, edge retention, and overall durability. For EDC use, VG-10 is a dependable steel that strikes a great balance between performance and maintenance.

Blade Specs:

  • Steel: VG-10

  • Blade Style: Drop Point

  • Blade Finish: Black Finish

  • Blade Grind: Flat Grind

  • Thumb Studs: Yes

  • Jimping: Yes

The black blade finish adds to the knife’s tactical appeal while also helping reduce glare. The flat grind makes it versatile for slicing tasks, and the drop point design keeps it practical for everyday cutting needs.

Thumb studs provide smooth, controlled deployment, and the jimping along the spine gives you extra control during more precise cuts.

📏 Size & Specifications

Here’s a quick breakdown of the dimensions:

  • Handle Length: 4.4 inches

  • Blade Length: 3.4 inches

  • Overall Length: 7.8 inches

This puts the X504 firmly in that sweet spot for everyday carry — large enough to handle serious tasks, but compact enough to carry comfortably.

🎨 Variants & Availability

The Critical Strike X504 is currently available in three different variants, giving users options in styling and finish preferences. Whether you prefer bold colors like the purple G10 or something more subdued, there’s likely a configuration that fits your taste.

All three variants are available on our website as of this review’s release.

🧠 Final Thoughts

The Critical Strike X504 delivers a strong combination of quality materials, practical design, and smooth operation. The VG-10 steel blade, Axis-style lock, and reversible pocket clip make it a well-rounded EDC option. Add in the clean presentation and multiple variants, and it becomes an even more appealing package.

If you’re looking for a dependable everyday carry knife with a bit of personality — especially in that purple G10 configuration — the X504 is definitely worth checking out.

  • Great helpful review which details every category I look for in a good reviewer.
Overall this knife rates a good budget friendly with great blade, then usual D2, 14c28n, Nitro V & usual 8cr13 to 9cr18Mov.
Rarely I see VG-10 at this price range knives, which worries me about heat treatment.
