Packaging & Presentation

The QSP Baby Penguin arrives in QSP’s signature packaging — a clean, modern box with a minimalist aesthetic. The box features the QSP logo prominently displayed on the front in a sharp, bold font, set against a neutral-toned background that gives it a professional, premium feel. The design is straightforward and tidy, reflecting the brand’s no-nonsense approach to knife design.

On the back of the box, you’ll typically find product information and branding details, keeping everything organized and easy to identify.

Inside the box, QSP includes:

  • The Baby Penguin knife

  • A quality leather sheath

  • A cleaning cloth

  • Brand stickers and paperwork

It’s always nice to see a brand include a few extras — especially a cleaning cloth to help maintain that satin finish.

The Knife Itself

Now let’s get to the main event.

The QSP Baby Penguin is a compact fixed blade designed for everyday carry and utility tasks. There are currently 7 different variants available, offering different handle materials and color options to suit various preferences. All variants are available at launch, giving buyers flexibility right out of the gate.

Sheath

  • Material: Leather

  • Lanyard Holes: None

  • Locking Mechanism: N/A (slip-fit leather sheath)

  • Fit: Perfect

The leather sheath fits the knife snugly and securely. Retention is solid without being overly tight, making it easy to deploy while still feeling secure during carry. The leather adds a traditional touch that pairs nicely with the modern blade steel.

Handle & Ergonomics

  • Material: White Acrylic

  • Handle Length: 3.375”

  • Lanyard Hole: Yes

The white acrylic handle gives this knife a clean, almost minimalist aesthetic. It feels smooth in hand but still provides enough grip for controlled use. Despite its compact size, the 3.375” handle allows for a comfortable full grip for most users.

The inclusion of a lanyard hole is a great addition for those who prefer adding a paracord extension or bead for extra security and style.

Blade Details

  • Steel: 14C28N

  • Blade Length: 2.525”

  • Blade Style: Sheepsfoot

  • Blade Finish: Satin

  • Blade Grind: Flat

The Baby Penguin features a 2.525” sheepsfoot blade made from 14C28N stainless steel — a highly respected steel known for its corrosion resistance, edge retention, and ease of sharpening. It’s a fantastic choice for everyday carry.

The sheepsfoot blade shape provides excellent control and precision, making it ideal for slicing tasks, utility work, and detailed cuts. The flat grind enhances slicing performance, and the satin finish gives the blade a refined, clean appearance.

Jimping is subtle but functional, offering added control during more precise cuts without being aggressive.

Overall Specifications

  • Handle Length: 3.375”

  • Blade Length: 2.525”

  • Overall Length: 5.9”

  • Steel: 14C28N

  • Handle Material: White Acrylic

At just 5.9” overall, the QSP Baby Penguin hits that sweet spot between compact portability and functional usability.

Final Thoughts

The QSP Baby Penguin is a well-executed compact fixed blade that blends practical materials with clean aesthetics. The 14C28N steel, sheepsfoot blade design, and comfortable acrylic handle make it a strong contender for anyone looking for a small, reliable everyday carry knife.

With 7 available variants at launch, there’s plenty of room to choose a style that fits your taste.
