Review of the VOSTEED Ankylo: A Perfect Blend of Design and Functionality
Hello everyone, and welcome to another exciting review! Today, we’re diving into the VOSTEED Ankylo, a new addition to the knife enthusiast's collection. After unboxing this beauty, I can’t wait to share my thoughts on its features, design, and overall performance. Also, if your interested in reading more, why not consider reviewing our other blog reviews?
Unboxing Experience
The VOSTEED Ankylo arrives in a sleek, branded box that sets the tone for what’s inside. The box itself features a modern design with the VOSTEED logo prominently displayed, complemented by a stylish color scheme. Once you lift the lid, you’re greeted by a sturdy gray and orange tin box—definitely a thoughtful touch from VOSTEED.
Inside the tin, you’ll find a black knife carrying case adorned with both a black and orange VOSTEED Velcro patch, a white and orange patch, a sticker, and a cleaning cloth. It’s clear that VOSTEED wants to ensure you have everything you need to care for your new knife.
Design and Build Quality
The Ankylo is designed with functionality and comfort in mind. Its handle is crafted from gray aluminum and features a unique square texture, providing an excellent grip even for those with larger hands. A small lanyard hole at the bottom adds to its versatility. The stainless steel pocket clip on the back is a practical addition, allowing you to carry the knife discreetly.
One standout feature is the Vanchor lock at the top of the handle, which functions similarly to a button lock, making it easy to close the knife with one hand.
Blade Performance
The blade of the Ankylo is made from Elmax steel, known for its durability and edge retention. Its reverse tanto style not only looks great but also enhances cutting efficiency. Instead of thumb studs, VOSTEED opted for a medium-sized thumb hole for one-handed opening, which I found to be smooth and intuitive. There’s also a flipper tab for those who prefer a more traditional opening method.
The satin finish and flat grind of the blade give it a polished look while ensuring it’s ready for any task.

Here are the key specifications for the VOSTEED Ankylo:
