Review of the Kansept Mini Kryo: A Compact EDC Wonder

Hello everyone, and welcome back to another episode of Jimping with Jacrispy! Today, I’m excited to dive into a brand-new knife from Kansept: the Mini Kryo. Before we get started, just know that we have a youtube channel where we post new reviews and items daily. Now, let’s jump right into the unboxing!

Unboxing the Mini Kryo

The Mini Kryo arrives in a stylish, well-designed box that reflects Kansept’s commitment to quality. The exterior features a sleek color palette, with a bold font displaying the Kansept brand name prominently on the front. The back of the box offers essential information about the knife, showcasing the brand’s attention to detail.

Inside the box, you’ll find a white Kansept envelope containing a faded blue knife cleaning cloth and a product use and maintenance manual. Beneath this envelope is a black Kansept knife carrying pouch, which keeps the Mini Kryo safe and secure. And speaking of the knife, the Mini Kryo is available in eight different variants, all of which will be on our website as of this video’s release!

Overview of the Mini Kryo

Now, let’s take a closer look at the Mini Kryo itself. The handle is crafted from gray titanium, providing a sleek and modern appearance. However, it’s worth noting that the handle is on the smaller side, which might pose a challenge for those with larger hands in achieving a comfortable grip. There’s no lanyard hole at the bottom, but a black pocket clip on the back allows for convenient carry in your pocket or on your jeans.

One impressive feature of the Mini Kryo is its framelock mechanism, which allows for easy closure.

The Blade: Performance and Design

Moving on to the blade, the Mini Kryo features a drop point style made from S35VN steel, known for its exceptional edge retention and toughness. While it lacks traditional thumb studs, a large thumb slot enables one-handed opening—a crucial feature for an everyday carry knife. The top of the blade includes a small amount of jimping, enhancing grip during use.

The blade sports a stonewashed finish with a flat grind, giving it a rugged yet refined look. If you look closely at the left side of the blade, you’ll find the Kansept logo elegantly imprinted in black, further emphasizing the brand's craftsmanship.

Specifications

Let’s wrap up with the lengths and specifications of the Mini Kryo:

  • Handle Length: 3.75 inches
  • Blade Length: 2.75 inches
  • Overall Length: 6.50 inches
  • Weight: 2.71 ounces

Conclusion

And that brings us to the end of today’s review of the Kansept Mini Kryo! With its impressive build quality and sleek design, this knife is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a compact and reliable everyday carry option.
