Kizer Vigor Knife Review

The Kizer V3 Vigor - Green

I just want to start off by saying I have been impressed so far by the quality of Kizer Cutlery's knives since they first were released to the public.  They have been high quality knives at a fair price $100 - $200 dollars.  But this knife is a lower price point which had me thinking would this knife be to the quality of their other knives?

Lets start with the specs.
Clip: Tip up carry  L/R
Blade length: 2.99 in.
Blade thickness: .11 in.
Blade material: VG-10, 58-60 HRC
Handle material: Skeletonized stainless steel liners with high quality 3D processed G10
Pivot system: Double phosphorous-bronze washers
Full length: 6.86 in.
Weight: 4.11 oz.

Taking the Vigor out the box I noticed that the knife was well balanced.  The Vigor is nice looking but didn't have much of a WOW factor.  After deploying the blade, I was pleased with its overall beauty.
Grade 7 out of 10.
Looking at the blade I am impressed with its overall craftsmanship.  It has a nice drop point vg-10 blade with jimping on top.  The grind is nice and finish of the knife is very pleasing.  The knife is sharp but not extremely sharp out the box.  The dual thumb studs are a plus especially for a knife with reversible clip.  The blade is high quality and looks like it would withstand a long period of everyday use.

The pocket clip is stylish and clever.  One of the frame bolts is used in conjunction with the clip.  The finish of the pocket clip is attractive and the design is nice and utilitarian (Clip is reversible).  The pocket sets nicely in your pocket with good knife visibility.  It slides out of your pocket and can be deployed with ease.

The scales of the knife are g10 with a wood grain styling.  There is a good size lanyard whole on the end of the knife.  The housing design is above average and there is no blade play.  This is an absolute must in knives of this price range.  The deployment of the blade is smooth and done with relative ease.  The blade is centered perfectly in the housing (Another absolute must in a knife of this quality and price range).

Overall, I was very impressed with The Kizer V3 Vigor.  Kizer continues to make quality knives at a reasonable price.  I will also give the Vigor a bonus point for having a retail price of only $70.  This knife matches the quality of knives that retail in the $95 - $140 range. This is a quality knife at a reasonable price.
Overall Grade 35.5 out of 40
Grade 8.88 out of 10
